The Icarus 8.5LB True Dewax Bidirectional Closed Loop Extractor

Butane Extraction System

Comes with 1 yr Limited Warranty

The Icarus unit shares the same functionality as the standard Bi-directional with the convenience of rack-mounted columns. The Bi-directional solvent input provides a complete material saturation. The oil-bearing solvent advances into a sleeved spool chilled with dry ice for further filtration. Freezing the solution will coagulate the waxes and lipids, causing them to crash out, leaving you with purified oil in the collection base.

Extractor Configurations:

  • Explorer: The standard true dewax extractor model has a welded collection base and a carbon steel LP tank.

  • Professional: The Professional series features a stainless steel LP tank with larger bore valves and 3/8-inch hoses, increasing recovery rates. The collection base has a removable bottom for an easier extract pour.

  • Elite: The Elite series comes equipped with the same features as the Professional model with American-made instrumentation valves by SSP. The collection base has an outer liquid jacket that permits precision heating during recovery. Paired with a heated circulator* eliminates the need for a hot water bath. Active recovery: BVV's 4-cylinder recovery pump kit with 1/2-inch JIC hoses. An active recovery kit reduces the amount of dry ice needed.

*NOTE* This model requires a heater circulator or chiller *NOTE*

*Note: Column capacity may vary depending on the density of packed material and packing density. Capacity is calculated using the industry standard of 4.2g/in3. This is the upper limit for column capacity. Low density, uncut, and/or lightly packed material can reduce capacity by 50%. For best results, we recommend to tightly pack coarse ground material.
